Our courses have been designed with these priorities in mind. They provide career progression opportunities for a wide variety of public sector organisations and have been proven to deliver real business benefits to individuals and organisations.

Delivered by experienced public services practitioners, we develop essential management practice and knowledge required by managers in the public services, developing strategic practice and knowledge, relevant innovative service delivery, effective organisation and service performance.

Our courses designed for the public sector include:

Professional Certificate in Public Service Management

Designed for practitioners who are in their first managerial role or preparing for their first substantive management role, or for experienced managers who have no management qualifications.

Postgraduate Certificate in Public Service Management

Designed for public service managers or aspiring managers, the programme enables participants to enhance their performance through a variety of learning and teaching approaches, including: workshops, small group learning and set work for personal management development

Postgraduate Diploma in Public Service Management

This course further develops strategic practice and knowledge relevant to developing innovative service delivery, effective organisation and service performance. This is achieved in collaboration with colleagues from other agencies and professions

The course emphasises and supports joint development opportunities to facilitate interagency working. It also provides an arena to network with likeminded professionals in the public services field who can inform practice through shared experiences.

MSc in Public Service Management
The MSc is designed to allow public service managers to pursue a particular management issue to greater depth through more independent and individual research. This is then translated into effective management practice, with the development of crucial research skills for underpinning evidence-based practice.

CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification (PAQ)

This course leads to the qualification required to become a Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting (CIPFA) professional accountant.  The CIPFA qualification is recognised by the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) and all public-sector employers.

As a full service Business School, we also offer part-time professional courses on a range of other topics including human resource management, marketing and customer service management for individuals or public organisations alike.
